THE TRAIL OF DREAMS WORLD PEACE WALK RETURNS TO U.S.A

Morrocco (PRnine – August 14, 2008) – The Spirit of Truth Foundation announced today the final leg of its worldwide walk for peace. The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk-A-Long will begin in New York City on January 21, 2009 and conclude April 21 in Atlanta, Georgia, where the foundation is headquartered.

The Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk, which originated from Atlanta in October 2005, is a three and a half year project organized by the Spirit of Truth Foundation to promote world peace and understanding among people in communities across six continents.  The activities of the Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk and its volunteers are informed by The Spirit of Truth Foundation’s commitment to social justice, environmental justice, and world peace through a grassroots approach.

During the course of the walk, the Trail of Dreams team has met with local community leaders, spiritual leaders, and youth leaders to learn about important issues affecting the communities.  The three initiatives of the walk are: Peace Education; Environmental Sustainability; and Fitness and Wellness in our communities. The team of Peace Walkers also assists communities by fostering the implementation of conflict resolution strategies, sustainable living techniques, and healthy lifestyle choices among community members. Other Peace Walk activities include peace education forums, interfaith ceremonies, and Artists for PEACE Sake events.

In addition to the Trail of Dreams World Peace Walk, the Spirit of Truth Foundation is currently organizing a PEACE in Action coalition of organizations with the common goal to address international and national policies that affect youth, families and communities.  Other projects organized by the Foundation include Uprising, a theatrical production company, Beyond the Global Divide International Young Leaders Peace Summits, and The Trail of Dreams Summer Wilderness Experience.

The Spirit of Truth Foundation is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization established in Washington, DC, in 1991 by Audri Scott Williams, a former college dean, now visionary, author, public speaker, and peace advocate. She has won many awards for her dedication to humanity; and Jon A, Ware, an environmental scientist, educator, musical composer and performer.
